Good question NZer; what would I do with a complete breakdown of society across the world and armies of human eating zombie types rushing to kill everything?
Well I'd take to the high seas of course. I need to sleep every now and then. Probably hit up a yacht club early on via an army bothey, for supplies, and then head off to a remote island until the worst of the initial wave is over.
Once the weakest were all gone I'd be more likely to use force to increase my force and get a bigger ship, more supplies and make for the Far East. Lots of fish and fruit out there and the weather is more agreeable.
Long way around to sail from here though, but at least it's not the US were everyone has guns and medication during a thing like this.
I'd probably end up North of you on a remote island with a large enough ship to go scouring for food every few months.
Who I met along the way and how this rough plan might alter is anyone's guess but it seems like a fair go at it.
What about you?

Well that's no fun!
You have a great huge Ocean to the North, tropical climate not too far up there and reduced shipping lanes due to the situation and so less piracy to worry about.
You're practically throwing it all away!

Just head up the North West coast of the North Island let the Māori men take the brunt and steal a boat and head to New Caledonia. Should be easy after that
If you were really adventurous you could head out to Kiribati and be happy all your days
