Did Guero really die? Does he show up later? If not, I wonder if there is a chance that he comes back in this version since they didn't show him getting killed.

I read the book a while ago.
      Answering your question
      Yup he's dead.
Other things from the book, if your interested.
Biggest thing is there is no Camilla, or if there was she was a small afterthought. Teresa never went to Dallas, after she fled when her bf died, she ended up in Spain. There she met up with a guy who was running drugs via speed boat. She and he worked their way up the ranks, ultimately her new guy dies and she takes out on her own. I could go on but gotta run

I only read the 1st chapter a couple years ago. I'm excited to revisit it again. The author of the book is from Spain so I guess it makes more sense to have it mainly set there since he may know it better than South America.
I actually like what they've done with the story so far. Teresa is playing a more passive/observant role right now but Camilla is really mesmerizing to watch. She just dominates every scene she's in.

          Yes!
The best thing about last night was my dream about Will Ferrell.

Lolfound the answer. How obvious! Just didn't want to assume. 🙂
