She is one of the worst actresses ever. Her Oscar win is a joke and reflects poorly on the Academy. Ethan Hawke's performance was the only worthwhile thing in this calamity of a film.

Ethan Hawke was the only one who managed to make this movie worth watching.
Gimmick and the rest of the movie is just plain garbage.

Just watched it last night. Patricia Arquette was like finger nails on a chalkboard as usual.
Oscar winner ? It just shows how meaningless an Oscar really is.

I HATE her acting when the latino guy approches her to say: "Thank you, because of you I want to school and everything"
And her face was like "meh, ok"

Yes, I have to say, I don't think she performed that well particularly in that specific moment. I was left feeling ambiguous as to what to make of her reaction. I wasn't actually sure if she was really supposed to be conveying "meh okay," or shock, or "who me?" or what.
There's subtle acting and then there's failure to clearly signal the intent at all. I found her acting very lacking.

I took her silence as maybe that she was wondering what she was going to order, now that she knew the shyt was on the house.

Oh no. Unfortunatley this is a moment when you are a tone deaf to what is goin on here. Her response was very emotional, but internalized. I am brought to tears every time I see this scene.
This is what the critics, the industry, and a great deal of the public saw.

Yeah there was nothing spectacular about her acting in this film, I can only assume she got the Oscar for enduring 12 years of filming.
I didn't really see anything amazing about Ethan's acting either if I'm being honest with you. All were just mediocre, as was the movie.

Why stop with the Oscar? She also won the SAG, Golden Globe, and BAFTA awards as well.

A couple of things almost put me off watching this movie. One was finding out just how long it was. I don't care if it took 12 years to make, 3 hours of this stuff is too long to watch. Secondly, That God awful speech by Arquette at the 2015 Oscars in which she rambled on and on about Male/Female Pay Parity (or some such irrelevant rubbish) also very nearly put me off watching this as well. Still I did find the endurance to watch it and well yeah, it was a long 165 minutes.
