It started off so well…

And then went downhill. I watched this show after finishing Veronica Mars. Ken Marion, Jane Lynch, Lizzie Caplan and Adam Scott on a show created by the same guy as VM? I was intrigued.
I loved the first season, I liked how they cut right to the chase with the will they/won't they love story between Henry and Casey, it was a refreshing take on the romance angle. 9 great episodes follow and then they messed it all up in the last episode. I love Constance, she made me laugh so hard with her ridiculous story and her absolute lack of shame. Bonnie made me laugh also, and had she only guest-starred for that one episode, I would have been fine with it. Then they just mess the whole story up by having Ron get his dream of running a Soup N' Crackers realized, Henry gets promoted to team leader and Casey getting a gig on a cruise ship for 6 months was the kiss of death.
Second season was nowhere near as funny, Megan Mullany is fine but she never really made me laugh and she didn't have the same kind of chemistry with the rest of the team as Constance who was kind of the hippie mom who dishes out ridiculous advice. They turned what was an interesting couple into a clich with the whole will they/won't they BS with Casey and Henry. Ron was funny because everyone knows that guy that takes his job way too seriously, and who tries to abuse the little bit of power he has, so when he returned as a long-haired party boy who lost his dream, it didn't really work for me. By the time he returned to good old Ron, him suddenly just getting his old job back (without the raise or the benefits) made no sense. Theoretically, that would mean that Henry is still the boss but he lets Ron make the decisions but he has the final say.
The entire second season was a mess and really dragged the whole show down, losing Jane Lynch really hurt the show, and I can understand why it was cancelled. It seems stupid that after only 10 episodes, they made so many changes to begin the second season, they had a good thing going and then they f**cked it all up.
