As a practice on its own? There would be very little to get worried about.
However, when you add it to the abhorrent practice of financial and legal institutions discriminating against white men, it's highly destructive, and counter-productive.
The outcome is difficult to predict, but disenfranchising the group that built and defended the society we take for granted probably won't end well for anybody, except the enemies of freedom and democracy.
As usual, the left asked for something reasonable (equality), but then they went way, way too far.

When there's already a lack of representation in films of certain groups, it's disappointing to see those representations dwindle more due to whitewashing. Representation is important because of its impacts on how people are seen and how they see themselves.
It's not a big deal when overrepresented demographics get changed. We already have plenty of representation.
Whether is aucks of not is a different story. I sometimes wonder if so-called "woke casting" is meant to get people to view diversity in a a bad light. Diversity doesn't necessarily have to be ****, but in Hollywood, they just seem to slap an all female or multicultural this or that on something and call it a day.

Hey I've been watching multicultural all female movies for years. Lesbian Spank Inferno was a modern day masterpiece.
Back in the day when they had all or mostly male casts it was hardly even watchable. 50 Man Semen Slam just isn't going to cut it anymore with modern audiences.

Who determines a lack of representation?
If that were really an issue, they would create compelling characters of the groups you say have a lack of representation. Instead, they swap out gender and ethnicity or caste them out of context (in historical films, for example).
News flash, MANY of those white men and women in the media that are overly represented are actually Jewish. Jewish people make up a smaller percentage of the population than many of the ethnic groups people claim are underrepresented. So yes, lets make it about race.
What is ignored is the fact that it is actually certain agendas that are overly represented in the media. By casting either way, solely based on race is actually racist and it gets us all to keep thinking about race all the time rather than our real problems. And we do have real problems that we need to deal with.

Not who. What. What determines are just the sheer statistics of who gets the leading roles in films and which demographics get the most representation and positive representation.
Most of those Jews are white.
Race issues are a real problem.
Thinking about race in terms of disadvantages and policy is a good thing. Burying your head in the sand and thinking it gas no effect on who gets hired, how people ibteract with you, etc. is erasure. It only helps the people in power to be "colorblind".
                Ignorant bitch.

No, who. There are many, many variables, but only so many we can focus on at a time. Who shines the spotlight on those issues, even once they are shown to not be the real root cause of our problems? Why would they do this? Why do you insist on being so obtuse as to how the world really works?
So Jews are the patriarchy and we need to bring them down? What are you? Some kind of Nazi?
Why are you so emotional about this? Have you ever hired anyone before? It's interesting how life is working out for you in your bubble and how your enablers allow you to live your lifestyle. You make these arguments based on your emotions and not real facts or experience. Just talking points repeated or what you feel is right in your brainwashed narrow mind.
I submit to the audience that you are a bitch because you are so emotional. Taking no real action in your life or acting on any sort of logic. You lack real world experience, yet you think you would know better than we do on how we should run our lives. You lack perspective and you think trendy buzzwords equate to real knowledge.

What exactly are you talking about? Because there are variables to the world's problems, representation of minorities shouldn't be a concern?
What is the real root cause of our problems?
Be more coherent in what point you're trying to make.
So Jews are the patriarchy and we need to bring them down? What are you? Some kind of Nazi?
Lolwut? I don't even know why you brought up Jews. I was just saying minorities should have better representation, and that white people are overrepresented, so casting a minority in a usually white role isn't hurting us. Jews already have a lot of good representation. They are white after all.
What is not factual about what I said?
The **** does my life have to do with the topic?

Has there ever been any moment in your life where you're sitting there thinking about all of your terrible ideology and you thought to yourself "Am I wrong?"
"I am Kamala Harris, my pronouns are she and her, and I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit." -A fucking idiot

                        The point is subversion.
We stay engaged by arguing. They get free publicity. The public gets divided. Social media gets free content.
The only losers are the financial investors and the general public if they want to remain mentally healthy. Most don't care however.
So the real question is how did it come about that the corporations don't mind losing all this money?

A lot less than the people complaining about it make it out to be. A cartoon mermaid now being black isn't a big deal.
