I agree with snr_alejandro_sosa points about The Godmother Griselda Blanco. Her story is so interesting, I can't believe Hollywood hasn't already made movies about her. Latina actresses should be fighting to play the woman in different stages of her life.
Unfortunately, everything is told from the male point of view.
After all, her protege Pablo Escobar has influenced a lot of TV shows and movies.
No two persons ever watch the same movie.

I can't believe the same people who made the first one were behind this garbage. Where the guys in the first one were obvious professionals, the morons in this one were trying sooo hard to show you how "real" they are. Lame and boring.

I hurriedly tracked down Cocaine Cowboys II after thoroughly enjoying the first one. Boy, what a disappointment! While you could accuse the first documentary of glamourising the coke industry, at least it had some balance from the police, medical and media interviewees. This "documentary" (it's more like a cartoon or rap video) is totally and reprehensively shameless in how it wallows in the greed and violence of drug trafficking. It portrays these idiotic, vacuous crack dealers as hip, fly gangster beep completely and utterly ignoring the human cost of the crack trade. Whereas the coke in Miami was largely being snorted by well to do fly guys and girls, they were selling crack to their own deprived neighbourhood. Yet there is absolutely ZERO contrition on their part, and they seem utterly proud of their achievements. Frankly, I felt that they were lowlife scum.
Just a very, very poor documentary.

I think I turned it off right after the part where the guy started talking about how he worshiped that murdering, tranny-looking, psycho. I know many of them were drug dealers but a lot of the victims were innocent women and children. Not sure why I was surprised though. Most sequels are straight to DVD release garbage that has nothing to do with the original film. Yeah I'm sure this one had a lot of similarities to the original later on but I cut it off before it reached that and I actually sat through Johnny Mnemonic once so I should be bale to watch anything. This guy from Oakland decides he likes this bitch so he writes her a letter and she calls him back so lets, let him make the sequel lol. Glad to hear that Giselda was shot last year too lol.

I totally disagree. After seeing CC1, I was surprised that I had never heard of the Godmother and wanted to learn more. CC2 answered those questions and provided great insight into by the person who was one of the closest (and still living) members of her life The filmmaker is brilliant - and I thought this was a brilliant film.

After the bad reviews I thought this movie was going to be awful. Overall, I found it to be quite entertaining. Charles Cosby has an entertaining life story. He is also a witty and articulate storyteller.
CC1 was one of the best documentaries ever made. There's no way the sequel could have topped it. But, overall, I found CC2 to be entertaining.

This is an extended version of a CC1 special feature. Very poorly put together. CC3 will be top notch however.

completely agree.. i couldn't stand cosby ugh. it's scary that a human being can be in "awe" of someone like griselda for her ability to sell coke and kill.
and i'm surprised at how people are saying that he's articulate and is a great storyteller because it sounded to me like he was trying way too hard to sound smart. he found some good words in the thesaurus and memorized lines. and the fact that he was labeled as the "REAL beep should say something.
what was funny was when he said he wanted to go into law HA. anyone can say they wanted to be something after the fact. i had to turn this movie off after 25 minutes because it was wasting my life.

I have never seen the first Cocaine Cowboys 1 but however I did see the second one and i loved it. I showed it to some of my friends and we were all memorized by The Cocaine Godmother. I have never heard of a woman with so much status as her's in the drug world. I will check out the first one since everyone thinks its better than the second.
