Was going to prison necessary or was it needlessly elaborate? It did allow him to psychologically toy with the investigators and kept them on their toes looking for an accomplice instead of him but he could have been hiding at one of his properties instead. I wonder what if a guard checked up on him in solitary while he was out and about? That's a tough situation to explain yourself out of.
Why did Darby shoot at the cops? They didn't know he was on the roof. What was he hoping to accomplish? Maybe he really hates cops. It was a good thing though otherwise he wouldn't have needed to use the booby-trapped gun and the movie would have ended much earlier.
What was the point of sending the video to Jamie Foxx's family? To frighten them and mess with Jamie? He never goes any further than that. To open up an interesting opportunity to confess? He could have sent the video to the police which would have been more convenient.
Random CIA guy shows up to tell us that Gerard Butler is a so good at killing because he is a super killer for the government. Fascinating stuff but it didn't add anything. Somehow it made him less interesting. I like the idea of a man driven beyond his normal capabilities more than some punks happened to pick on one of the deadliest men on the planet.
On a scale of A to Z (A high, Z low) this film gets a P.
