Change the system how? Clyde never did say exactly what he wanted. He criticized the system how it was, but I don't recall him ever offering a viable alternative.
No I don't wish Clyde would have "won". It was already silly enough that his plans were working so perfectly all the way till the last few minutes of the movie. No reason to make it even more absurd.

I kind of wanted a stalemate.
This is the type of film where you wish a character like Clyde will get killed but kind of enjoy what he's doing but yet be glad when he's finally killed.
I just wished for a stalemate. Like Nick Rice getting fired and every single award stripped from him.
The fact of the matter is that Nick always cared about his job and was never around for his daughter's cello plays.
It's like the wrong man gets the happy ending whilst the other man got a happy beginning listening to Mr. Tambourine man at the start of the film.

I agree. To me it would've been the best ending. Jamie Foxx's character never learned his lesson. He was accountable because he decided the law not on right or wrong but what would give him the best chance for advancement. It would've been poetic in my opinion if he realized just what his actions set in motion. By turning a law abiding citizen into a hateful vengeful vigilante.

I was routing for him to kill them all. To me, the perfect ending would have been if they never find the tunnel until the last and final scene, after Clyde kills everyone and vanishes from prison, making us wonder how dafuq did he do it (the discovering of the tunnel being the ending of the story and the explanation of the mistery).

He did win. At the end, Jamie Foxx says, "I don't make deals with murderers" which is what Clyde was after all along.

I would have loved him to win. Clyde is a fantastic character and really relatable. I mean how many people would want to do exactly what he did in the same circumstances. There is a big difference between a vigilante and a killer, look at Batman he took out criminals too all because he lost his parents. Unlike Batman though Clyde was trying to make a point. He was trying to improve the system and change the way things were done. By comparisons Nick who should have been the good way was a smarmy, lazy ass lawyer who was more concerned with his conviction save rate than he was whether he was putting a bad guy away or not. I felt a little sorry for Ames, while he most assuredly deserved to be punished for his crime, he never actually committed the murders and was already got the death penalty, the extent of his death was a little much maybe. Darby however deserved everything he got and more. I would have loved to see Nick learn his lesson and Clyde get away. It would have been much better an ending.

Funny that you say all that, and your signature says 'live and let live'. Clyde murdered innocent people. It would've been a better ending only if he crawls out the escape tunnel and immediately Frank Castle puts a gun to his head.
