Very nicely done, I did wonder how they'd pull it off but it was very entertaining.

I couldn't tell you about STD. I did season 2 of it hoping that, like TNG, the first season was just finding its feet but nope - it shat on Trek even heavier than it did prior.
A shame because the actors are all decent and the set design was good, but it's always about the writing for me and there was none of that which was Trek
Voyager is the weakest of the core Trek components for me as its writing was discombobulated around what particular characters would do in any given situation.
DS9 was probably the best run of the core story wise, there's a few flaws there still but overall the writers did some grandstanding in a very impressive way
Sorry about mentioning Trip, some fans have him still alive and married to T'Pol though so I'll stick with that version of events and consider the holodeck program covering for Section 31 origins for Riker and Troi

β 2 years ago(July 25, 2023 06:09 PM)You didn't watch Picard 3? I absolutely loved it, it's possibly the best ST thing I've watched for ages and although I didn't mind S2 it mostly ignored what happened in that (thankfully). If you can bear it I'd say give it a chance.

All the usual tub-thumpers say that S3 is good and that it's changes who writes and directs it but as far as I'm concerned to get to it requires enough to not bother with.
Which saddens me immensely as, like many others, I have lots of memories which have Trek integrated into them here and there and I hold them dearly and won't have them sullied any further.
Shame, but all good thingsβ¦

Will they start doing little skits on SNW, like on SNL? Standup performances? Singing? Some dancing? Just like they did on TOS? Maybe have Uhura do a monologue from Hamlet? Or have Ortega beat up some men, after telling each one how he sucks at his job?
