I came by the Imdb page just to see what the actors had been in besides this movie, And was saddened to see the ridiculous over reaction to the films premise. Yes, The idea for the film was that global warming unleashed a swarm of virulent parasites, Did the film makers end the movie with a big sign saying 'STOP GLOBAL WARNING', No.
But still, The 'Intelligent' watchers are all busy wetting themselves claiming the movies 'Global warming Propaganda', Rather than just a film including a current, Secondary worry for much of the audience.
No one ever made such ridiculous statements after seeing The Ring, Or Dawn of The Dead, But, I guess there will always be those special, Special individuals ready to throw around their 'Enlightened' knowledge.

It's just conservative, country folk. They get very offended by the mentioning of global warming because the corporations have them brainwashed to fight the idea with their very lives. Keep buying huge houses, huge SUVs, keep using all your water on your perfect little lawn, keep up your wasteful lifestyle, there will always be more where that came from!

What a load of crap. Keep parroting leftist talking heads, you are just as brainwashed as the people you just generalized. Oh, I know, you must be one of the "enlightened".
I run around in circles, it is my metaphor

'country folk' as you call them don't have manicured lawns and suv's. those are suburban soccer moms. I live in the country and grow the soy that's in basically everything you eat. This film was trying to be a horror film with a message, sadly this message is over-hyped in the media and is being used by the director as a way of making himself think that he didn't just make the stereotypical horror flick that he did.
Our planet has always been in a cycle of climate shifts and if you think that the last 150-200 years of fossil fuel consumption has already had an impact on this planet that has been around for billions of years you really need to get over yourselves. we are all insignificant little specks of nothing and the earth will laugh at then forget our existence as nothing more than a blink of an eye in it's life cycle.

I think the movie has a baser message that just the issue of global warming. What does it take to bring about radical change? Does it take a revolution? Historically speaking, almost every big change in civilization, came from some sort of catastrophe or revolution. The Black Death, La Grande Rvolution, World War 2, The American Civil Warthe list goes on and on. So it just so happens that the issue here is global warming and one wonders how can one get society at large on the same page of scientific understanding, to bring about the drastic change needed to prevent the possible eminent downfall of mankind? Would it take a revolution, or in this case, a pestilence brought about by a prehistoric parasite? The whole idea is ironic, that the solution suggested is more eminently catastrophic than the man made industrial greenhouse effect leading to climate change issue.

If you're really a farmer, global warming should be a big concern to you.
