Up until this one coming out /. I had no idea that anyone even knew of the original outside of the few who would have ridden the ride of Universal.
It wasn't a great film but it was fun enough.
I guess it made enough money to have this sequel occur

There was plenty of quality movies out in the mid-90's /. and so perhaps it got buried under all of them
I just looked it up and it made half a billion worldwide which is pretty epic for any movie to have made back then
It was alright I guess, but I suppose cinema was more of a thing back then than it is now

How very lucky for the storm chasers in both movies that there happen to be a whole bunch of tornadoes in the same area and in such a short time apart between them!

It is a movie where the impossible becomes possible.
And let me guess….
The YT storm chasing cowboys get too cocky and too close and either become seriously injured or even die while the main characters do not.

No Warren. What happens is that we’re supposed to just
think
that they’re cocky idiots who only want views, but we (like the characters in the film) misjudge them and we later see that they’re good people with hearts of gold who help out if a town gets ravaged by a tornado and all of the proceeds from their merch go to fund these affected by tornados.
You should watch it, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll shout, you’ll cheer.

Funny how that works. I've been on five storm chasing trips, and the only time we saw that many was west of Dodge City, Kansas,
where we saw 14.
I'll never see that many again!

Saw it last night and it was about what I expected, dumb fun. The two leads are fairly engaging though, much like Helen Hunt and the late great Bill Paxton were in the original. If you don't think TOO hard about the absurdity of it all and just go with it, you'll have a good time. 7/10

Cheers Spike!
I think it'll be on the backburner as a potential movie to see at the theatre. I'm not desperate to see it but if the spectacle is there for the full cinema experience then perhaps it will tip me over the middling point
Glad you liked it enough for what it is
