Is it just me or does the trailer look terrible? I'm almost certainly never going to watch this anyway so perhaps it's unfair to comment but, there is something very stiff, stagey and unoriginal about the extended advert they keep pushing at me - plus some dodgy looking acting.
Then again there is no singing shown in the trailer and maybe that is what the film is really about?

its a 2:45:00 long play turned into a movie. of course its going to be ****.
most plays turned into movies look bad.
this one looks extra bad. they filmed it in UK.
it looks cheap and stagey like wonka (which was also filmed in the uk).
i blame bad UK sets/studios for this.
remember, this is the quality of the UK here: -

They wanted a real set rather than cgi and planted 9 million flowers lol. The set of the emerald city is way bigger than that picture and has a real working train. And the set is outside not inside a studio. It's set on acres of land.

I would guess there is a lot of singing in this, they just don't show it in the trailer because they don't want to turn off people who aren't musical fans, similar to how Joker 2 downplayed the singing. Ariana Grande was probably hired for her ability to sing.
