They shouldn't use the same theme song. There are plenty of great songs by black artists from that time period that could be used to great effect.
Otis Redding's Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay would be perfect. Start it about 10 seconds into the studio version. -

Matt at the quantum of conscience channel has talked about how they keep songs alive through history even if it's not a good song at all. For example London Bridge, kids have been indoctrinated to know the words to that POS for how long? This is how the system keeps itself alive. They could have simply chose to call this show something else but because of that damn song they know people will instantly associate it with the keywords mentioned byJasno below. Racism! Civil Rights! Riots! Wah wha wha yeah yeah yeah!

Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay
There is no bay in Montgomery. If I were setting a series in Alabama, it would be in Mobile with its bay. Mobile is the third largest metro area in the state, but has the tallest building by far. Montgomery is fourth. I would propose this old Kurt Weill song:

BTW: I was driving from Pensacola to Mobile in 2007, the year the 745 ft. Battle House Building was completed. I was surprised to see it before I even reached Mobile Bay.

What's with all these black people trying to replace white people in roles that white people made popular? Brown people aren't that desperate for fame. Brown people have their own rich culture that they are proud of. They make their own entertainment stuff. Telenovela are the ****!

Oh okay. And black people already made a similar concept of The Wonder Years anyway. There was a movie Spike Lee made that was basically the black teen version of The Wonder Years except in movie format rather than a tele-series. It was called Crooklyn.

I rarely use those colors in the SUBJECT anymore because:
- Unless you use a white background there's no guarantee it will be readable in someone else's theme.
- The TAGs take up space that shouldn't be counted. Only the output should be restricted.
- The SUBJECT should not lose focus when the COLOR dropdown is selected.
