Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Hatchet II

This year, I'm reviewing my 31 favorite horror sequels (the second installment of horror series only) every day this October. And of course, Hatchet II made the list.
So I wanted to know how you all felt Hatchet II stacks up to other horror sequels? The franchise is clearly inspired by Halloween, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. But I'd say that Hatchet II is easily better than Friday II, and it's comparable to Halloween and Nightmare 2.
Also here's my review for the movie here:

Best traditional horror movie of the last ten years. Hilarious, OTT, bad-ass and cool as hell. Ministry, Overkill, Danielle Harris, Kane Hodder etc. can't go wrong.
      In memory of Sam Peckinpah

I think its better than Hatchet and Hatchet III, although all three of them are great
