    This movie is awful, over the top and tries way too hard.
    But the introductory scene with the Mermaids was magnificent and definitely one of the best scenes in the franchise.
    The set was eerie, Gemma Ward singing that creepy sea shanty was hauntingly beautiful and mesmerising and then the sudden shift to a sort of "horror film" was well done.
    It's just a shame everything around that scene was trash.

        Yeah the Mermaid scene was the best scene of the film, by far. Especially the beginning of it.
        Would've preferred if Verbinski had adapted the mermaids tho, much better director than Marshall.
