"Free" universal healthcare NHS in UK sentences baby to death

Despite Italy offering to transfer this baby to their hospital for free, give this baby an Italian citizenship immediately, and their offer to cover
100% of all expenses involved
, the NHS dismissed the parents' pleas and petition which could have potentially saved their daughter's life. To take Italy up on this offer, it would be at absolutely no expense to the parents, no expense to UK citizens and no expense to the UK government. However, because this baby was a UK citizen, they not only insisted on taking this infant off of life support, and also refused the parents' pleas to at least take their child with them to allow her to die at home and in peace. The government refused to allow this free transfer, treatment and citizenship, even though there was hope that they could have saved her life.
This is not an isolated case. Italy has also offered completely free healthcare to other infants, but the high court denied every single one, thus
sentencing these infants to death
. Free healthcare is not truly "free" when the government can step in and overreach and override the choices of individuals to seek life-saving healthcare, even if it genuinely would not cost anyone a penny.

I was unable to read the article because it's behind a paywall.
This is my stance as well. This entire situation and everything that transpired, is completely sad. This is a tragedy in no uncertain terms.

Regarding that last one Norway, one of the Nordic countries with a more socialized system of government, has the lowest mortality rate… hmm

You need to post a non pay walled version

I guess it's no surprise to anyone that Lilith's claim about Italy being able to save the baby is total bullshit but I don't know why England wouldn't just let them take the thing back to Italy either.
Since she took the opportunity to bash socialized medicine as a concept it seems fair to point out that our system in the US is barely functional and twice as expensive compared to anyone else with generally worse outcomes ¯_(ツ)_/¯
It's a welcome break from the anti-semitism trolling anyway. -

I did, you dumb ****. My issue was with the remark making out that socialized medicine is a bad thing. She always eats up and regurgitates these propaganda pieces framing incidents as common or worse than the alternative, except when you look at the bigger picture and actual statistics and other facts, her narrative is bullshit. Public Healthcare is still better than the alternative, based on mortality rates and orger factors. It's undeniable.
Go choke on a bag of dog ****.
