About the only good part of the movie was that axe fight off. Cant say what it was but Mamoa really made it look like his hits hurt (or would hurt). I was actually really impressed because it looked like if sly messed up the choreography, he'd be chopped in half, those were some fierce swings!

I can't remember the last onscreen fight where it didn't look like the guy was actually not holding back in terms of power and speed. That second attack where he swung around looked like an actual attempt at murder.

Yes, it looked like nobody was holding back. It was a kick a$$ fight and those blows to the neck looked hard. They could really have hurt or killed someone. It was put together well and looked like they were really fighting. Knowing Sly he probably wanted to really go at it and said no holding back. I cringed a bit when the other guy looked like he made contact. He was really good with that axe.

The last onscreen fight that I saw where it looked like literally no one was holding back the entire movie was
The Raid 2
And that is one of the main reasons it is an amazing action film
This beep is child's play compared to that. -

I was very impressed too. Echoed the ending of Streets of Fire, also directed by Hill, but only more realistic and violent. -

I have to agree, I didn't even notice any rubber handles/heads either, very good editing/choreographing for sure.
I love the Transporter movies, huge Jason Statham fan, but when he does the axe fight in the house and you can see it bend sure I understand safety and what not, but it does detract just a touch.
