I actually am waiting until tomorrow night to listen. It's a rather big deal for me as far as releases go so I decided to wait an extra 3 days as I have a couple of days off work and can then make a special occasion out of it.
It was hard not to play the absolute **** out of + regnet, the + when they dropped it in April as I knew the singles of the past couple of years would be on the new album and I wanted as much new as possible. Couldn't of course not listen at all and wait for that one to be new to me too.

My full review:
There isn't a more relevant or timely piece of fiction to be found in 2025 than Mary Shelley's 1818 novel
Frankenstein
. Writing towards the beginning of the industrial revolution, Shelley's book - in part - warns of the unintended consequences of progress for the sake of progress. Those themes weren't particularly relevant when Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee starred in their (rightfully) iconic adaptations, but now as society stares down the barrel of an AI apocalypse Shelley's original work is more pertinent than ever.
And Guillermo del Toro has captured all of these themes in his screenplay, ignoring all previous cinematic depictions and finally giving the world a proper adaptation of one of the English language's best novels. For his portrayal of The Creature, Jacob Elordi deserves an Oscar. But his is but one of many amazing performances here. And it probably goes without saying for a del Toro movie, but the production design is completely on point.
This is a wonderful movie and an important one. Although I have some big ones left to see, this is my favorite of 2025 so far.
