Why did you think he was lousy? I thought he was quite wonderful. He played a man who was a disaster and felt horrible about himself because his mother was a shrewish biatch. When he drops the casserole and started with "I'm so sorry!" I laughed. Poor little Charles. A sweet disaster of a human being.

I grew up in that very portion of Oklahoma and not only never picked up yall, I seldom heard it used by lifelong residents.

I live in Louisiana, and we say "y'all" all the time, but never when addressing just one person, only two or more. Interesting to know that it's used differently in other parts of the country.

Know many, many people, from OK. And I go visit there often. What you are saying is not true. I rarely hear people say it.

I'm from Oklahoma, and I hear people saying "y'all" all the time.
And Tracy Letts, who is male, is from Oklahoma as well.

While I thought Cumberbatch did a fine job with an American accent, he still looks so English. Aside from that I was surprised not one actor said "Do what? " which is another Oklahoma expression meaning "what was that?" Or "what did you say?" But I grew up and still live in OK, Some people in the state have much stronger accents, southern twang, or redneck sound. That being said I still don't feel that this movie has anything in common with Oklahoma other than it's location. This family drama could have been set in ANY state and doesn't represent Oklahoma to me.

Haha, I'm from Oklahoma too and I say "do what?" all the time. Glad to know it's not just me. Don't say "y'all" at all but I hear it from family and friends or random people when out and about.
A nozh scrap any time you say.

I've lived in Oklahoma before and people from there don't really say Ya'll.

Growing up in Oklahoma I didn't use the word "ya'll" but my brother did. Some people do some people don't.
