You're notthere's a small courageous group of us who generally feel that Meryl stinks as an actress.

I'm convinced that Streep could fart on the screen for ninety minutes w/o saying a word and they'll STILL give her a nomination. It's almost a reflex action. What she is is an impressionist, not an actress.
I've enjoyed some of Streep's work, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan. But I thought your comment was hilarious. I think Sandra Bullock said something to the effect that they ought to have a separate Oscar category just for Streep.

I don't buy the "that was the point" line. I thought she was awful in this part.
That's your baseless opinion. I've been around people that were exactly like her character and she played it dead on. Her character had obvious mental issues, one being boderline personality disorder and that is the behavior they exhibit.

It's not "baseless" at all. With Streep you are constantly aware that she is "acting"she never stopsit's exhausting to sit through one of her "performances". Total phony and unnatural performer.

It's baseless, period. If there is anything that doesn't stop it is your incessant whining about her acting.

Yes, the only thing that would stop me is if the incessant ridiculous praise for her "acting" would cease.

This much is certain: long after Meryl Streep has passed, much of her film/TV/theater work will be praised.
Also, you won't live forever, meaning once you die, you won't be discussing your opinion. Which spews forth just like certain bodily functions.
It don't matter who you hear it from. It's the same story.

And after this no talented mimic/impersonator has passed on, many people out there will be no longer afraid to tell the world just how overrated she was. She stinksand she can have a whole row of Oscars-she still stinks.
