The tv series was never all that serious so why would this one?
But I would say that this Wednesday is a rude psychotic ****ing bitch whereas the others depicted in the original The Addams Family tv series and the movies, Wednesday is rather harmless albeit morbid goth misfit. -

I've seen that actor in other films but they made him look especially ugly in this series. Gomez in the original show and in the movies wasn't this hideous.
