Wednesday doesn't blink. She calls it the Kubrick stare, "looking with her eyebrows." Burton noticed she had performed an entire scene without blinking and liked it so much, he told her to keep that going, so she completed the series without blinking.

Another very interesting and fun bit of trivia is that Jenna Ortega, having never beheld or played the cello prior to filming this, she actually took cello lessons two months prior to filming in order for her to do theses performance.
