Did you ever see the TV shows Fargo or Bones?
Noah seems to be able to build a lot on the bones he puts out in early episodes (And sometimes leaves things hanging, but not annoyingly so).
There were parts of the second episode I felt to be a bit foolish and silly, and I expect there to be more scenes which are similar in the future, but overall we set a pace with Wendy, Joe, Morrow and Kavalier and that seems to be on for now.
I think Kirch is my favourite, but between him and Dame I've no clue as to how they'll pull all of that off.
I'm reticently hopeful about it. But I was that way for the first 30 minutes of Prometheus until the helmets came off and so it's all still up in the air for me

he's a slave to the algorithm
gives him woke derangement syndrome
it makes him miss a lot of other stuff
and in turn, influences his followers to also focus on contrived nonsense
the dress party was to show how out of touch aristocrats are, btw
what other issues did you have?
i thought the poor decisions were made at the end, but i'm sure they felt like they needed a cliffhanger.
poor decisions were made throughout by the red shirt, but that was to show there were real stakes involved. -

Out of touch they are? By not feeling in danger when a massive spaceship crashes into their building?
I’m all for societal metaphors but they still have to make sense to the world in which they exist. Having them dressed as stereotypical aristocracy is just way too on the nose and extremely lazy writing.

yes
they've never been in danger their entire lives. they wouldn't even know how to process something like that, much less what to do. they would rather fight you than change. they basically live in the matrix. believe it or not, there are actually people like that. perhaps they are even here, right now -

It’s a reach and you know it. A poorly constructed metaphor for the sake of having a metaphor
It’s **** writing
As is the scene when he finds the baseball. He has just been fighting with a violent mass-murdering monster and then all of a sudden he is taking a tranquil stroll down memory lane?
Again… **** writing
