Yes, the reason the Alien franchise waned in popularity was because of the strikes within the industry. The disinformation terrorists of the past tried to say that our writers didn't like Artificial Intelligence assisting them with their jobs, that Biden wasn't the most popular president of the United States in history or that the covid-19 vaccine was a eugenics procedure aimed at reducing the First World population. Those anarchists had already tried their falsehood tactics by trying to bring down the franchise after the third movie and continued all the way up until this worthy show which pitted the origins of humanity against those of our beloved creators - the Engineers.
