This is my first viewing of the 2017 remake of the original version with Tim Curry. So much time has passed since its release, that I'm going into this with an open mind and no certain expectations, especially since I have not read any current dialogue or discussions about this movie.
I have such a soft spot for the original, not just because of the performance, but also because I am such a fangirl of Tim Curry.

Well ****. The first 12 minutes just traumatized me.

I prefer it over the TV movie. Takes some liberties with the source material like the time it takes place, but it captures the essence of the book better. Love the book.
There were a few flaws. They gave a lot of Mike's role to Ben, making him kind of a useless token character, but overall, I love it.
