Well actually, it says in the novel that pennywise's head looked like something from outer space. This look is more reminiscent to the novel. Tim Curry was supposed to have more make-up but he had just finished playing Darkness in the movie Legend & said he would only portray Pennywise if they cut down on the make-up

True. The original cheekbone/chin appliences were still used in the battery acid scene. And he was planned to appear as a monstrous clown once the characters knew it wasn't a regular clown. You can see this in the concept art:

In the book, he's described as a mixture between Ronald McDonald and Bozo the clown, and he hadn't
          just
played in Legend; Legend came out 5 years prior, dude.

In the novel, he was described as having a big head also. I can't remember if it was Eddie or Richie who pointed it out.
Tim Curry said he did not want the full make-up for Pennywise due to the prolonged hours he sat while portraying Darkness in Legend. That's my pointnot the time period but significance of Curry's reasoning for taking the roleis that simple enough for you?

Can you find me a quote from the book? I really am curious and not just being an a-hole.

I don't much like it either. I know they had to differentiate from Tim Curry's costume but the monster from CLOWN was scarier.
Whatever you are, be a good one.

He looks too much like a mouse to me and also too much like a generic 80's slasher. I liked how in the tv series he could kind of trick people because he just looked like a goofy clown at one moment and in the next he was all pi$$ed off and menacing.

I don't see how you could make that assertation without having seen the actual film..
I find that people nitpicking about Pennywises look are picking a petty reason to bitch. All we can go on is the production material.. a lot of people made there minds up after seeing the EW picture.. and of course there going to show a menacing Pennywise as far as his faade of a friendly clown you cant make that statement and expect it to be taken seriously without having seen the film.. let alone a trailer

First I cannot have an opinion until we get some photos and after we see some photos I'm told I need to see the trailer, and after that I need to see the movie before I have an opinion. And after that I need to see the directors cut of the film or else I cannot have a valid opinion.
I've seen this play out a million times. To me it looked like there was a lot of pre-production shenanigans and that usually means studio execs are heavily involved in the creative process. The images we have been shown just reinforces that idea. Perhaps I'm wrong but I think this might be a paint by numbers horror flick.

There are 8.2 billion people in the world. 8.19 billion of them have never heard of and don't give a fuck about Charlie Kirk. Get over it.
