I feel like watching the good ones this weekend. I mean, just Alien and Aliens.

But I'm not bad mouthing the movie. I don't like it, that's all. In any case,
Alien 3
was the last serious Alien movie before it all went to sh$t. As I said before, I really tried to like it. It brought back that sense of powerlessness of people before the alien creature and the sense of isolation.
Here, I found the piece of information I wanted.
The Xeno looks CGI but it's actually a mixture of practical effects and chroma keying. I remember it always looked fake, even back when the movie was released.
So, yeah, the special effects aren't that special. I also don't like the plot or the characters. Can you name one character from
Alien 3
besides Ripley? Also the rape attempt scene put Ripley in the position of being a damsel in distress. After she single-handedly killed an alien queen in the last movie? Seriously? That scene breaks the character and is completely unnecessary. OK, she was in a prison full of rapists but why was that chosen as the setting for the story in the first place?

I like that reviewers set up. Otherwise, I have nothing else to say about Alien³. I enjoyed the movie a lot despite whatever flaws it had. Most people have their reasons for hating anything. Lol

God damn Alien: Resurrection
, but it’s still good dumb fun and a lot better than the AvP movies
I’ve got a bluray box set of the first 4 movies as well, I’m eagerly awaiting a 4K release of them all.
Also heard that they’re actually going to continue with the Prometheus storyline after saying it wasn’t gonna’ happen. One more movie to look forward to. -

Yeah. I rewatch the entire box set every so often but if I stop the marathon at any point, it's usually at
Alien: Resurrection
. It actually took me a while to see
Prometheus
. I fell alseep the first 2 times trying to watch it, and didn't bother with
Alien: Covenant
, until I had nothing else left on my Michael Fassbender trip. Rather enjoyed them, even though they didn't really feel like
Alien
movies.
