Many thought he was the devil at the time. His support for the Mujahideen (i.e., Al Qaeda) in Afghanistan, Contra rebels in Nicaragua and right-wing death squads in El Salvador - all in the name of "anti-Communism" - made America the #1 sponsor of terrorism in the 1980s. His invasion of the tiny island of Grenada in 1983 was a precursor to America's regime wars of the 2000s (Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya) and his bombing of Libya in 1986 was totally unjustified and resulted in the death of Qaddafi's stepdaughter. Of course, compared to Bush Jr. and Obummer, Ronnie Raygun was a humanist, but that's not saying much.
