I actually liked the First "
ALIEN vs. PREDATOR
" Movie.
It stayed true to the formula of the Original "
ALIENS vs. PREDATOR
" Comic Books which I think (I may be wrong) was what the Movie's Director (Paul W.S. Anderson) was trying to do.
I refuse to talk about the 2nd Movie though.

A great plot point and a show of protocols which were in place but discarded due to The Company requiring what it wanted

Isn't it somewhat of a trope, the breaking of quarantine or not adhering to rules whilst dealing with an Alien planet of race?
It helps the plot along surely?
Otherwise it would be, everyone did what they were supposed to do, The End.

It certainly is a trope but I think that it originated with Alien and so that's why it falls short of being cliché.
Can you think of an earlier story with the same element Dazed?
