But he's like the bridging gap between the two Captains, he's sort of the runner up original Captain who still somehow managed to come back to the good guys side after being cast aside and forgotten by those who made him.
That's your one guiding rod to show Sam how to be the man he needs to be, just like it was with Steve.
But hey, I'm not a Marvel fan anyway and so I'll catch it and slander it. But that could have been a great moment for Sam to some into his own.

Yeah, but there's more than just picking up the role. There's fitting into it, making mistakes, learning from them and then making it your own
