Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Columbo

The more I see this episode, the dumber I get. The whole episode is filled with ridiculous premises.

    • Seeing a murder from hundreds of yards way though a window.
    • Hollister going to the witness' house
    • Hollister's continued references to the murder.
    • The witness goes out with him despite mounting evidence that she was correct about what she saw.
    • The sloppy murder and disposal of the body.
    • All the evidence of the victim's last moments with Hollister (car, body) and he denies any knowledge.

it is pretty far fetched that the murderer woould risk killing someone in front of a window like that, not well thought out. but i quite like that episode,I rather like the woman who sees the murder, and Columbo seems to like her too.

It follows the Columbo formula so it's a pretty good episode. The Columbo writers took risks and wrote some episodes that were out of the box with different twists and turns. But this one has some absurd premises like I mentioned.

One of my least favorite of all the Columbo episodes of the '70's.

She was lonely but not a gold-digger. I think she really liked him.

I think she was a TOTAL gold-digger! I think that's exactly why she continued to go out with him. She was lonely and he had money; She knew he'd pay to keep her quiet.

this is a classic "suspect acts too cocky" episode.
