Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Columbo

    lunar11 — 9 years ago(January 01, 2017 03:56 PM)

I am currently watching Columbo couple of times a week. On the occasional episode Columbo sits down to eat chilli soup.
So, the next day I go out to buy some Mexican Chilli soup; I even purchase the crackers!
Thank God I don't have an affinity to smoke!
    Anyone else swayed by Columbo?

Yes! There have been times when watching Columbo that I've eaten chili. Of course, home-made is always best but most times I usually heat up some Wolf brand chili with some shredded cheese, crackers and dig in. Yum!

I like a good bowl of chili every now and then; and Columbo was right, the crackers do make the chili better.
Jesus is the Son of God and my Lord and savior. Pretty cool.

I love chili but don't do cigars. What else does he like to eat? He's quite the hedonist 😄

Off the top of my head I'd say, donuts, coffee, and hard boiled eggs,he also ate a lot of free caviar in the Robert Culp episode with the subconscious cuts.

Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. In Agenda for Murder (S9E3), the detective suggests that he may "liberate" this superb eating cheese once the lab is finished. But the killer is busted by bite-marks on a piece of the cheese.
I tried Reggiano after this episode; loved it. Since then, I've tried the similar Sarvecchio from Sartori; I think it's actually slightly better than Reggiano!

I was on business trips twice to Houston, TX this month and I went each time to a place where I ordered Chilli. I totally loved it and (partly) felt like being Columbo. No cigar, though.
