The Columbo series from the 70s will be shown on CoziTV while the 90s version will air on MeTV starting in January. So if you have satellite TV you can still get your Columbo fix!

In the San Francisco bay area both are over the air channels.

Actually those stations are over the air virtually everywhere, just as Antenna TV is over the air. In my area, Antenna TV is over the air on channel 11.4, so the cable company made it available on their system on channel 114. They did a similar thing with MeTV.

NBC ordered Netflix to take it off so they can put it on their own streaming service which isn't debuting until 2018 (from what I heard). Until then, it's going on CoziTV where fans can watch it at a scheduled time with commercials instead of whenever they want without them.

Yeah and the cozietv and METV versions are only in standard def and Columbia was 35 mm so it looks tremendous in 1080p in netflix

Agreed, and that's why I have every single episode in HD. They're unwatchable on cozi and me tv.

HMM shows the movies from the 1980's so I'm recording those in addition to the episodes on MeTV. Netflix is slowly removing all of the good "old" shows. If it continues I'm removing Netflix as one of my streaming channels.

I've discussed this on other classic show message boards on IMDB The rights holders have seen how well over the air channels like independent MeTV and streaming channels have done and now think that there is a gold mine out there to be mined. They are increasing costs to steaming sites and in some cases like COZI which is owned by NBC and want it for themselves and want more bucks for their owned content. A bit of greed is making these shows now like on Amazon prime like MONK for instance requires you to buy (for online steaming) or rent by the show way to expensive for me and many.
It's the rights holders, as I'm sure Netflix with their reasonable prices are getting squeezed out and would rather still have those shows to offer but wanting to stay in business they have begun producing their own shows as well as their also dwindling Movie selection also due to the rights holders.

d_homen, you're probably right. I just hate seeing my favorite shows disappear from Netflix. To make myself feel better today I bought the entire series on Amazon. Now I can watch it anytime!
