Tom Hardy would be interesting, although he's a little too pretty in my opinion.
Rob Wiethoff, the guy who voiced John, wouldn't be a bad candidate. I mean, he has the exact voice and body, and he's actually a very presentable guy. Though it'd be kind of tacky to have the same guy in the movie anyway. -

Anson Mount would, but his voice isn't gravelly enough I think. He has the face for it, but maybe he could work.
I think for the movie to work, you'd need actors like this, the less big names attached, the better chance of people watching and taking more notice of the story rather than who is in it. It's why so many other western movies from video games or comics failed, too many big name actors that took away from the story and brought on unrealistic expectations. -

No but there are techniques for getting your voice deeper and more gravily without hurting your voice box.
