She clarified that this didn't constitute agreement with the accusations against her.
"I stand by my account of events and continue to clearly distance myself from any extremist ideologies,"
the Ballermann singer stated. She now wants to focus on her 8-year-old daughter Mia Rose and her 2-year-younger son Matty.
Verdict becomes Legally Binding
The verdict against Melanie Mรผller from January 12, 2026, is now legally binding. The Leipzig Regional Court imposed a total sentence of 70 daily fines of EUR 50 each, amounting to EUR 3,500. Initially, the sentence was 160 daily fines of EUR 500 each (EUR 80,000). The amount was reduced on appeal because the Regional Court assessed Melanie Mรผller's current income as significantly lower.
The singer rejected the charges (through her lawyer) in both trials. Her lawyer Adrian Stahl explained that the hand gesture was a rousing gesture for the audience. He stated that she made the arm movement at many concerts, specifically to the battle cry:
"Zicke Zacke, Zicke Zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi."
He asserted that his client held no right-wing views and was apolitical.
