I thought it was a good movie. It was better than Prometheus and Alien Resurrection.
I agree some scenes she definitely trying to copy Ripley in Aliens. The alien in Alien3 sniffed Ripley and that famous quote "GET AWAY FROM HER YOU BITCH"
AND THEY HAD the actor that played Ash in this movie with a cgi face.
Other than that. It was a really good movie. -

The original Alien had some of the best actors in the world in it. John Hurt is one of the top two or three in the world, and Ian Holm, Sigourney Weaver, Harry Dean Stanton and Yaphet Kotto were all top notch performers. None of the subsequent Alien films was particularly good, though a couple were entertaining. This one, though, was utter trash. Mostly derivative, and very poor acting.

Well first off, the first Alien movie was low budget and they used a man in a suit for the alien. So obviously there had to be more character building to offset the lack of showing the alien cuz it was obviously a man in a suit.
And they didn't have the money to make the face huggers scurry around and hunting like they should be doing. So all they could show was Kane sticking his head too close to an egg and a really quick shot of the face hugger attaching to his face. -

You take that back. Alien³ had Charles Dance and Brian Glover. And Aliens had Michael Biehn, an IMDb legend and personal friend of mine.

I forgot Dance, who is one of my favourite actors (he was the best thing in Game of Thrones). But he's also made a lot of crappy movies. His best perfrmance, I think, is in Bleak House (opposite Gillian Anderson).

I didn't watch GoT long enough to see his appearance, but I'm sure he was great. I agree, he's made some strange career choices. One of his most bizarre was Golden Child.

I agree Prometheus seemed to belong to a different universe from the original Alien, but it was a much better film than Romulus, which borrowed heavily (and badly) from the original and had zero acting talent.

It only borrowed the sniffing from alien3 (which made no sense because Ripley was sniffed because the alien detected that Ripley was impregnated with a queen alien) and the quote from aliens. The rest is part of the Alien lore.
It's a solid film. It's a good film. -

So in other words, you don't watch alien movies to see the alien terrorize people. You aren't interested in the lore. You watch alien movies to see famous actors?
You're not really an alien fan at all. So your opinion of the Alien movies are invalid. It's about the ****ing ALIEN. It's not about the crew members. Even Ellen Ripley took a back seat to the alien. The ALIEN is the star.
Michael Fassbender played a stupid character. That Droid didn't make any sense other than being the stereotypical evil Droid working for the company that's in all the alien movies. Noomi's character wasn't fleshed out well. What were they trying to make her character? The mother of all the aliens? None of that made any sense.
Alien Romulus makes sense.
