How important is the power struggle on message boards?

Is there power to be had on a forum? I suppose the moderators have a modicum of it, but even that vanishes once the users log out for the night
I'd say so. Depending on what kind of poster you are. There's a certain power in being able to manipulate posters into doing your bidding. Or even just being respected enough that people will do what you want because they want to impress you. There's also a certain power in being able to control the narrative of the board by PMing the right people and developing the right hive mind thinking. One could argue that deleting a few posts here and there is the least form of power this place offers. As great as they are, thirsty and Twiz don't strike me as powerful posters.
There's too much nastiness going on in the world at large. It's hard to see others so continually upset, be it online or offline. The new normal is a stressful one, so it's understandable to be stressed or more easily irritated, but it's so much more rewarding to uplift than to tear down.
I agree with you on this. But I will say, I really don't see how anybody could take anything here personally no matter how low of a blow it was. That's e-stuff I'm referring to. Not irl stuff obviously. Irl stuff is different. -

There's a fair amount of truth in that. Influential people will influence. I suppose it doesn't matter which medium is used to reach others. The charismatic will always attract followers.
Of course. It is easy to laugh things off when interactions are limited to the Internet realm, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that being attacked here after having a particularly terrible day never does much for my mood. It's not so much what's said as it is the fact of it being an unpleasant breed of energy expenditure. It's the small things that really push people over the line. I know we aren't known for being a pleasant place, but we also never know what someone is dealing with in their real lives.

That's certainly true. If it's any consolation, since my return I've limited my trolling to other trolls only and made it a habit to be nicer to posters who don't really troll at all. Like Annamaria, Steve Lake and Juan Kerr for example. Perhaps one day I'll leave trolling behind all together. It's a peculiar hobby to say the least and I'm sure a psychologist will one day tell me just why I so heavily gravitate towards it.

She was all that yes. Cool and tough when she went after hungry. Caused him melting down very ****ing amazingly and beautifully..
Here is a taste of it (she is HungryTheHutt)… The poetry of trolling… The haunting of hungryhouse…:

Sorry, but I don't see that as great trolling. They're both hurling abuse at each other, and she's quite good at it, but I can see why she faded so quickly with Bee. It's a completely different style of trolling. She seems soapbox trained, and therefore doomed, as far as I'm concerned.

It is art tho
The art of when to stop at the right time she really dont have that. But the way this particular thread was orchestrated is just poetic and sophisticated and it takes u on a ****ing trip.

I think she may be better at dealing with bullies and assholes than she is with people she deep down respects (like Bee). That's why you should never mix it up with people you really like. I think she would like to be part of TWD crew and be respected and liked, but that particular ship has sailed. I like her stuff when she's hitting out against (especially male) bullies.

Oh yes. Whenever i mentioned some trolling she did in the past on here and how much i love her trolling style, she reacted being very flattered and grateful. And she liked my current trolls list where i put her on 3rd place (out of 25).

Actually, Snow, none of that sounds familiar to me, maybe because TWD is such an odd board. There is no hive mind, I hardly ever PM anyone, no dogpiling is ever planned, and nobody does what anyone else wants. I think you're extrapolating from GoT, which was a much more orthodox board, trolling-wise.

I'm talking about filmboards not just any specific board though many of the things mentioned are done by GOT Posters, true.
Back on IMDb, we were always somewhat more sinister than you TWD guys. Many of our fights were won in the PM's which is why it was so important to have "allies". On TWD you could get away with being a loner and still merking people in a fight. Nobody else would jump in and it wouldn't feel like people were discussing how best to tackle the situation elsewhere. GOT board definitely felt more political.
