I am not going to be too harsh on him, he cannot help what's happening to him. It reminds me of my own grandfather. He too resisted the dying of his own light until the bitter end. We finally had to take ol' grandpa out back and put him down mercifully after the nursing home kicked him out.
I will remember bentley for what he was, not what he has become, a mockery of his former self.
What happened to the American Dream? It came true! You're lookin' at it… -

Why are you so hung up on these chinless, lisping pseudo-academics who wear their trendy conservatism on their sleeves? You seem obsessed with Eton and Oxbridge the way only someone who has never been there is. I go to Oxford quite often, and I'm not hugely impressed by the "front." You suffer from the British disease of class-envy. If you want to listen to a genuine Oxbridge intellectual, listen to Isaiah Berlin, or Stuart Hampshire, or Michael Oakeshott, or Bernard Williams or even John Gray or Alan Ryan; not these TV academics who are clinging to some inauthentic glory of days past, when black people knew their place.

Here's a lovely review of his book (if you can call it that) The Madness of Crowds:
Feebly argued right wing rant relying on omission, obscurity and anecdote and illustrating the mind of a man locked in his own neocon bubble. To argue , for example, that we have achieved racial and sexual equality in the US and UK is simply laughable. No evidence whatsoever is presented for any of the many and depressing counterfactual propositions which litter the book.
Just one egregious example : to fail to highlight the grossly abusive behaviour of men like Harvey Weinstein when discussing the Me Too movement shows the paucity of both serious analysis and simple humanity which characterizes this tendentious and unilluminating tome. An extreme , distorted and grossly overrated piece of neopopulist rhetoric. -

I couldn't bring myself to listen to the whole thing, but let's take his first point. The BLM movement is at fault for encouraging people to ignore social distancing measures. How can people in all these cities (not even in America) ignore their own safety in order to protest the killing of black men in America? What he sees as shocking irrationalism I see as startling other-centered decency. The many white Brits who were outraged at the killing of George Floyd are the rational, decent people. This moron (Murray) is a typical right wing loony who thinks Britain is going down the tubes because of the power of "woke" culture. It doesn't occur to him that old style Britain deserves to go down the tubes! It's the best thing that could happen to it!

Spamming the board with lots of words doesn’t really do much to dispel the commonly held notion that you’re having some sort of weird, autistic meltdown.
To borrow a word from someone you hold dearly, what happened to you, man?

Have a good night, Bentley. You’re a worthy adversary, but I still find it easy to make you look stupid.
