That was very much Pete's narrative, and there's some truth to it. When I first came to TWD board I was quite naive and earnest. But I started hitting back almost as soon as I got there, and also started enjoying the trolling. For a long stretch I posed (half-seriously) as an anti-troll. And there's a definite sense in which even now I'm not at all a troll in the sense that hungry or Orson are trolls. I'm an anomaly: a middle-class intellectual and academic who has studied trolling as perhaps it never has been before.

I know you like to think you're an outsider and you take little jabs -no one is safe with you! I think hungry notices that about you and wanted to see if he could press your buttons by implying you run with the crowd now -
