I admire his ability to flesh out very different characters. But I don't find most of those characters very likeable.

Interesting. I find him the same in every role except for in Gilbert Grape

The Wolf of Wall Street was not the same as the dude in The Departed, as an example.

They felt the same to me. Arrogant. Most of his characters seem arrogant, I guess, even in the Departed.

That's the only movie I ever thought he was really good in (Gilbert Grape). I also thought he was okay in The Quick and The Dead. He's a try-hard with a disturbingly boyish face. he will look more and more like a Harry Potter house elf as time goes by.

He was great in Catch Me If You Can, Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed, good in Gangs of New York.

Sorry. Didn't like him in any of those. He's a hardworking guy, I'll give him that, but I find him both insecure and shallowly charming. He wasn't bad in that movie where a bear attacked him, but even there I liked the bear better.

I hated all these movies, especially WoWS. And I am not just saying that to be contrary. I really didn't enjoy them one bit.
I guess everyone has that one popular actor that just doesn't do it for them

I also disliked WOWS. It was so misogynistic, and I got the impression Dicaprio and Scorsese enjoyed being that way.

I find DiCaprio repulsive too! I can't believe I forgot Daniel Day Lewis. Thanks, Corwin, for reminding me. I left out out all the old greats (DeNiro, Pacino, etc) because they're mostly doing rubbish now. Oldman, too.

Pacino has just yelled his lines for years.

I like Del Toro and Waltz. I quote Del Toro's Usual Suspect character all the time! When ever my kids act up, I say "I'll flip ya. Flip ya for real!"
I only just got to know Hardy when I watched Peaky Blinders last month. His Alfie was good comic relief but there was something ingenuine about the performance. I know a lot of fans loved that character, but I didn't.
My favorites are Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. Due to their pervy inclinations, I probably won't ever see them in anything again.

You should watch Hardy in The Warriors. He was also in that car movie about cement-mixing that Corwin hates and gives me such a hard time for liking….

Please. That was a thrilling movie about a man driving around for 2 hours.

cement mixing? I'll have to look it up and the Warriors, too. He's too young for you to mean that 1970s Warriors movie. I love that one!
