Yeah, let's just forget that gay marriage has been legalized. Other victories like Don't Ask, Don't Tell have happened as well.
Also realize that pop culture didn't always allow gay or openly gay people. Then they were treated as campy jokes and still are, but we're seeing more flattering portrayals such as Jesus from The Walking Dead.
