I think the way they setup the world was hard to accept. Wealthiest people create their own world and they have no army, no defenses? In case of trouble they have to call psychotic maniac on Earth and hope for the best? This is just stupid. What stops people on Earth from creating their own countries and declaring war on elysium? Nothing besides some robots that even mexican thugs have no problem dispatching.

Culturally speaking, with no actual leadership, no education system worth a damn, and a general consensus that constantly thinking only of one's own interests above everything and everyone else leads to almost no collective thinking or organization of any kind. In order for a group of people on earth to collectively create a country, you need leadership and organization to do it. You cannot create an army out of a set of people that constantly only think of their own needs, and constantly screw each other over to get those needs.
I do agree with you, however, that it seemed strange that Elysium had no self-defense systems designed to prevent immigration from Earth However, especially with what the standard procedure seemed to be after the one ship successfully landed, is it possible that the people of Elysium were not as threatened by the immigrants as Jodie Foster's character was? I mean, isn't that why they had her before the council, reprimanding her for hiring an assassin to do her bidding on Earth?

I still think it would have been interesting to see Eminem in Matt Damon's place but he wanted Neill to have the movie take place in future Detroit. And Neill didnt want to do that. Probably would have requires less sfx too since Detroit is already starting to look like the sh!thole LA from the future anyway.

Why would have been interesting to see a dumb wigger non-actor in a movie? You watch "reality" shows as well?

Altho I already made a post about it Im still very mad. The concept is A COMPLETE RIPOFF! (adventure "deponia")
So the movie, director or anyone claming to have had "the concept idea" does not deserve any love, even hate!

Because it is illogical rubbish, with bad science and an even worse left wing agenda. Deplorable. I would expect something this bad out of North Korea.

If it is left wing propaganda it is not particularly successful left wing propaganda.
Its message as far as I can see is that in the future open borders has turned the rich world into a vast slum.
We are then supposed to cheer that everyone can now go to to the one refuge from that slum, Elysium, and then if you think even a few days beyond the film close, presumably turn that into a slum as well.

As much as I try, I don't get this constant argument about propaganda. Certainly, when I see certain war movies glorifying anti-terrorist operations, it does FEEL like I'm seeing propaganda, somebody trying to make me think or act a certain way towards a point I don't necessarily agree with.
But to make that argument for ELYSIUM If it's true that this is supposed to be propaganda, something trying to make me think a certain way towards a certain person or country
I don't see it, so what do you see that I don't see? Because if it is propaganda, it certainly didn't work on me.

Because it's just Trump-like fear-mongering propaganda. It's way too obvious and simple to the point of being hilarious, and ultimately, it's an insult to any person who holds any political belief about decentralization of power, be it left-wing or right-wing.
I personally feel insulted by the incredibly simplistic, obviously biased premise of this movie. It's an insult to my intelligence to the point it makes me angry. Angry enough to write something about it.

Blah, Blah, Blah, inequality. Blah, Blah, Blah, immigration. Blah, Blah, Blah, unfair.
It was and is a load of tripe that masquerades as a sci-fi flick, and the disguise is so thin that it's obvious what narrative it being driven. You want to know why the hate? It's because a bunch of know-nothing, feel-everything "do-gooders" keep pushing that same tired narrative down their throat. If the movie actually had a valid premise, then maybe it would have been enjoyable. But it didn't, so it wasn't.
