So basically poor people like to live in squalor? Now sure - the little robot police didn't give them much leeway to do anything. But why would they want to live like that? They all just succumbed to living like lunatics? The entire city of LA?
Frey's house wasn't too bad inside though. But the rest of them? Come on.
I would like to think if this really happened us poor people would ban together and take care of our cities. -

That being said, this movie is badly written, badly directed, decent fx though, I liked the visuals of Elysium, the artists behind it should be hired to make Larry Niven's Ringworld -

People would ban together and take care of your cities eh? Lmao. People nowadays, especially in western cultures, won't ever "ban together." It's a sad reality. People have been successfully divided by ways media propaganda and the fake left vs right political paradigm. People will never agree on things. As for the movie, it's not like this all just happened over night. It was after decades of neglect and ignorance to the widening gap between the rich and the poor. So with no wealth to go around, people star to become desperate. People in desperation do stupid things and millions of people in desperation? Well that's a recipe of disaster.
