Wow, that was amazing!
I actually found the whole thing to be quite slow going but the final episode was incredible and Carla Gugino was freaking awesome! I don't know the Poe story so didn't have much idea of where it was all going but I did realise just a couple of minutes before that the granddaughter also has to go and that was so sad
But yeah, wow, I'm blown away by that finale -

It is preachy, but what's being said is so important if you can sit through and listen. Everything has a purpose. I really enjoyed it and could even see the logic behind the revelations.

Did you catch that reference to the "bent neck girl" that was thrown into this? It seemed like a wee homage for the fans. These all have the same basic formula, but it works.

No! I totally missed that but I did see that when Lenore was watching tv with her mother and went to find something on Netflix it showed Gerald's Game which is a Mike Flanagan movie with Carla Gugino. Love stuff like that.
What was the bent neck lady reference? -

When Roderick was seeing all of his dead children, as he was glancing at them, one of the daughters (I forget which one), sharply slammed her head to her right side, and it was almost a direct replication of "bent neck girl" from Haunting of Hill House.
I caught that as well, seeing Gerald's Game come up on Netflix.
They did a great job peppering many of Poe's actual writing throughout the series. I thought it was clever how they utilized that.
