Very good science fiction movie

So much beep on this movie - but it is actually great sci-fi story. Old school sci-fi.
The aliens a pretty alien and badass. The whole story is good - like Tyranids arriving to human earth. Great visual effects, fierce battles. No hope for humanity. All that is great. Actually it is the only true alien invasion sci-fi movie produced in last years. Yes, District 9 was great - but humanity escaped. Battle: LA - was great too, but humanity survived again. Source code and Surrogates are good, but they are no way alien invasion films ever.
Yes, today alien invasion theme is not very popular. Zombie rushes are much more appreciated.
Bat watch this - Skyline have all the story of The Walking Dead packed in one movie. All those boring parts are moved out. Skylines characters are good, the movie definitely shows us how they lost their normal lives after invasion.
The US marines are useless, all modern warfare is a crap. The movie shows how humanity fail step by step.
Ans the only reason why aliens may fail - was their own technology. The story reminds me The War of the Worlds. But Skyline is better movie than Tom Cruise.
I think most of the people expected some Warhammer 40k kick alien butts movie. But that's not it. So everybody complain.
The whole plot idea of "see how happy life was ruined by some alien crap" makes this movie comparable to Hitchcock's Birds. And the ending - is the better version of Matrix happy ending.
And the battles where pretty good and entertaining and looking realistic.
The only thing I can complain - is why government was not using more nukes to wipe out alien threat. And too many f22 raptor fighters where lost in this battle.
But. We have seen other world capital cities invaded the same way. Except Moscow, I believe Russian government where not hesitating so much bout their citizens and wiped aliens with the full load of ICBM missile pack.
And the moments of human harvesting are awesome!!! -

"see how happy life was ruined by some alien crap" Who had a happy life? Certainly none of the main characters.
"the better version of Matrix happy ending." The tacked on magic glowy brain thing was just crap. -

I hear everyone complaining about the glowing brains, but I recall that it was introduced to avoid an R rating with bloody brains. Also another thing I hear is about the red/ orange brain and how dumb it is they go ahead and use it. But if I recall correctly, the directors said in an interview that really the brains weren't blue or red but were shown that way figuratively, merely to help the audience understand how it was different than the other brains.
