Funny, huh? Kony is a Christian too

"There's a difference in being a Christian and claiming to be one. Kony is not Christian. He just thinks he is."
HAH, if that kind of thinking were true, there's be no 'true Christians' at all in the world. It's not just whether they do wrong things. Do you even know how many different chruches there are claiming to be 'true' while others aren't?
Kony is Christian, just as the KKK are and the WBC, just like Hitler and the Nazis were. They are all Christian because Christianity means a heck of a lot of different things to different people throughout history, and at one time it meant burning women alive and torturing people. It has mean slaughtering other denominations in cold blood or protracted war.
Your comment is called the 'No True Scotsman' logical fallacy, and by using it you and others are making your religion sicker. Accept the terrorists and bigots and hatemongers which exist in your religion. They use scripture to justify their actions just like you. They don't change the words. They read it as is. Can you see the problem with that?
Pretending they aren't your problem as a Christian is showing a lack of love for your religion. -

AH okay so according to you, all Germans are evil, Hitler was a German, he was evil, so all Germans are evil. Are you really that ignorant or idiotic and so against religious people that you would actually try and argue that a bad person is a Christian because he says he is a Christian. SO you are generalizing one man to a whole community, you are generalizing a man who seeks power, who likes to have power by thinking he is close to God, and then killing people, and comparing him to a community of people who live their lives by helping others. If you are not so damn ignorant and narrow minded you'd know that there is a general believe among Christians of living righteous, loving thy neighbor.. Yes there are people out there who use the term Christians, but they act like some humans do of all types, humans who do harm, that doesn't mean Christians do harm, it means they did. If you lash out and shoot someone at school, does that mean that your family is bad, if your dad kills someone does that mean you must be bad, according to your flawed arrogant logic its true. There are a lot of people out there who call themselves Christians who don't even believe in Jesus. Don't be a simpleton and generalize people who live wrongly to certain religions. Suicide bombers believe they do it for their god, while the same nation's religious people believe that they are wrong and understand the word wrong. Hateful people such as yourself would go and say those people are just as bad as Koni because their religion is all the same, when it is not. It's a term people use and hide behind, just like the word retard, I'm using it to describe you because you act like an arrogant idiot, doesn't mean you are diagnosed as retarded.

"H okay so according to you, all Germans are evil, Hitler was a German, he was evil, so all Germans are evil."
Show me where I said anything like that. 'According to' what you just wrote, you can't read to save yourself. Your lack of nuance is astonishing, as is your refusal to accept the sheer subjectivity of any religious ideology and institution. The ignorant person here is you. Next time you waste my time with a block of text, derive your opinions from knowledge and facts, not your childish gut feelings and emotions.
And use paragraphs. I am certain I spent more time reading your rubbish retort than you did understanding my very logical and factually accurate post. -

I completely understood what he meant. You just don't have a rebuttal as you don't seem to understand what being a Christian is. You are claiming that anyone who says they are a Christian is one and we should accept that. It makes no sense because a Christian is someone who strives to be like Christ and believes in Christ to be the son of God. Going around killing whomever you like is clearly not something Jesus would do. Remember Jesus is the New Testament. The Old Testaments ways changed with Jesus, as He says.
Those who pick and choose scriptures in the Old Testament to give them an excuse to kill is going against what Jesus says. Does it make me Jewish to say that I am one even if I don't believe or agree with their religion at all? Is it their fault that I kill someone because I said its in their God's name? No. It only tarnishes their religion. -

I thought the same thing. I think the movie quote is something like this though:
"Kony claims to be a Chritian, but he eats children." (I took the latter part of that statement to be metaphorical, btw.)
Anyway, I was glad they left that in the film. It sounds like you are being critical of Christians in your post, but the Bible says the same. How do you know the difference? By the "fruit" the people bear in their lives.
Kony is offensive in every way. Do you think the same is true of Sam Childers? -

And this proves exactly what?
What if he claimed to be a superior golfer even if he's never golfed in his life?
Call me crazy but a guy that practices genocide and other such atrocities involving the kidnapping of children as soldiers and sex slaves might just have a slight issue with the truth..Is that possible?
I mean, a sociopathic murderer couldn't possibly tell a lie, could he? -

Satan is responsible for global cataclysm and genocide, ethnic cleansing, mass infanticide etc. You substituting Jesus for Satan is a fools game. The fact of the matter is, the religion is not a unified thing, and 'being Christian' is not a unified concept. The centuries have not been entirely pleasant nor 'Christ like'. Today's moderate Christians are not as they are because they have removed the scripture which extremists exploit but because they ignore it and post rationalise it away.
It would be a rare thing to find in the Western world a person who would not concede that there are 'good' and 'bad' Muslims and that Isalm has qualities which support both interpretations. Yet, the overwhelming fallacy is maintained that Christianity suffers from none of that. It is pure revisionism to the goal of blinding everybody involved. -

Hitler was more or less a Darwinist, so I guess we can blame Darwin for Hitler.
This is a repulsive lie told repeatedly by Christian fundamentalists. In fact, Darwin's work was on the Nazi's banned books list. From "Die Bcherei":
6. Writings of a philosophical and social nature whose content deals with the false scientific enlightenment of primitive Darwinism and Monism (Hckel).
Incidentally, they also didn't care for
c) All writings that ridicule, belittle or besmirch the Christian religion and its institution, faith in God, or other things that are holy to the healthy sentiments of the Volk.
