I can't think of another horror film where I've felt quite as much empathy for the main characters, in particular Tricia (the pregnant one). She was such a sweetheart who'd gone through hell wondering what the hell has happened to her husband and finding it so painfully difficult to let go and move on. What she goes through and her ultimate fate is so unfair. This is an extraordinary horror film, low budget or not, it hits the mark perfectly.

the acting was weak at several points, but very strong on others, plus, the characters were written so well that I could look past it, and you're right, I felt so bad for Tricia, this whole thing was a rollercoaster of human suffering.
