Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Margin Call

The characters didn't really seem to portray they really cared about what was happening. The scene when they find out something is wrong was too quick. The one guy shows the other two and within 10 seconds without any explaination, his boss is shocked. No questions asked, no checking for accuracyJeremy Irons seemed too apathetic to me. It didn't seem like he cared his multi billion dollar company was on the verge of collapse, I mean saying, "explain it to me like I was a dog," and "the music stopped and all I hear is silence" really? Why did they need to find that Dale guy so much? So he could sit in a room with Demi Moore? When those two guys are sent to find Dale they are in a taxi talking about whatHow much do you think someone else makes? They're not the least bit worried about their job or the financial collapse of their company. Then when they are at the strip joint they don't call their boss and tell him Dale isn't there? No, they start talking about how much strippers make. I don't know, but if I had just discovered my whole company was going down the drain and I may be out of a job, I like most people, would be worried and pissed off, cussing and swearing and playing out scenarios in my head. These guys.meh. Finally in one scene the guy cries and it wasn't even believable at that point. I guess I just couldn't care about the characters.
