Blake lively, certainly did a great job. Natalie would have been fine but i think the role suits blake more than her. And yeah as everyone said, katherine would have been a total disaster!

I actually thought Blake Lively was great in this. Natalie is also a very talented actress but if I were to recast it I would have preferred someone like Keira Knightley (to Natalie Portman). She is a more established actress then Blake (2 academy award noms)but could also have brought the same silentalmost stoic civility to the role that I really liked.

Sorry to say but there was no one better then Blake Lively, Blake Lively was fantastic, her acting the way she talked the way she did everything was just fantastic, i also like the movies Natalie played in but sorry to say Blake Lively was perfect for this movie.

Blake her chemistry with Ellen was phenomenal to me that was important. Love Natalie but don't think she could of convincingly pulled of the mother/daughter like Blake/Ellen did.

Natalie Portman is probably my favourite actress but I think Blake was the perfect choice. I think she had a face that works better with every decade. She looked like she belonged no matter when it was suppose to take place. I'm not sure if Portman has that look.
