What I learned from watching this movie: it was written by a kid, because any woman over 60 knows full well that there's no guy in his 20s who would be ATTRACTIVE to her. Why? Geez. Figure it out!
While a man can be so frightened of aging that he will date / marry / fall in love with someone 20-30-50 years younger, not so many women would do that. A woman of over a 100 is not likelty to find a young guy anything but a 'cute puppy dog', not someone to have a relatsonship with even if a woman over 100 still had the emotional responses of someone under 50.
What would a mature woman find attractive in Ellis? NOTHING. HE'S A KID, a NAIVE KID. His life is before him, and he acts that way. That's fine, but a woman of advanced years EVEN IF SHE IS NOT AGING would not be full of that wonder that young people have.
It's why no one, except very young people, really WANT to live to be 100.
I'm 67 and believe me! I gave up that stupid dream a loooong time ago, even though, drat! I come from long lived stock. My grandmother lived to be 107 and almost 110. My mother is alive and quite active at 95. She just drove her big truck from Fort Worth back to her home in the Seattle area, after driving to Fort Worth a month ago for a visit.
Anyway that's my input. I should say that the men who pursue me these days are all under 35. I find that HIGHLY annoying, since I have NO interest in teaching another kid how to make love.
Life is a journey not a destination. Fear nothing.

I totally agree. I was a bit disappointed, since I thought there was a lot of wasted potential. A movie about a mature but eternally youthful woman, abundant in wisdom but still fresh of face throughout the decades would be great, but instead they made it into another silly rom-com avout a silly girl running away from true love for her own silly reasons.
Realistically, I wanted to see her act like a hundred year old woman in a youthful body. No centenarian would have been impressed with Ellis' creepy persistence and his cherry-boy antics, no matter how attractive he is. She would have had too much experience to take his creepy fratboy infatuation seriously, and given sonny-boy a lecture on the proper way to woo a woman without stooping to threats and stalking. She probably has socks that are older than he is.

Considering the idiot is 29 in 2014/15/16 and everything she owns is deeply vintage and belongs from the 1900's, and is probably what she wore 100 years ago, yes, I think she probably has one or two stockings and knickers considerably a bit older than he.

That's why the Adaline character was disappointing. It seemed like she stayed 29 mentally as well as physically till the end.

                1. If your driver's licence says you're 45, and you look 29, people will contact the FBI.
(seriously? I'm older and still get carded)

?#. That you wouldn't possibly be thought of as weird when you dress like you're from 1908 for 10 years. There's retro, and then there's something that just looks off. No one is going to think twice of the blonde bombshell who looks 29 for 10 years. Or you know, that she dresses like she's stuck in the 1900's, or that her apartment looks as if it's from the 1908's.

Anyone saw Jack or Big or The Curious Case of Bejamin Button, or 13 going on 30?
I just downloaded from Amazon Adeline, finsihed it and am watching my DVD of Benjamin Button (man growing younger, a la Jack). Saw both of those, and Adeline, in theatres (Adeline, if I am correct is Blake Lively's FIRST starring role, and the current out "Shallows" is her second.)

                          Some funny stuff, but
Incorrect with #4. Manual transmission cars can start when popping the clutch, regardless of starter or battery life. In fact, back in college, when my classic manual car was not recharging the battery (failed alternator), I'd coast down my street a bit, pop the clutchand happily be on my way.
However, until I got a new alternator (or starter another time),
I had to make certain that I parked in an area with clear downslope
.for the repetitious procedure! If I was in a flat area with friends, they'd push while running beside the car to hop inside. It always made us laugh. 😄
Manual cars are generally much easier to rig and service. That's why certain foreign countries, like Mexico, mainly rent manuals to tourists (best price too).

                            1. That the narrator in this movie is a time traveler and , thanks to him, Von Leman will now be the most sought after person (for his/her principle of electron compression in DNA) on the face of this Earth.
